Becoming healthy mind, body and soul
When I think of health, I think of being healthy mind, body and soul. Choosing to be happy, humbled by what I have, not what I don’t. I am not going to lie, this isn’t always easy to do. It is much easier and almost natural to focus on the negatives, the “I cant’s,” and “I want’s.” Learning how to train your brain can be tricky.
The mind…Between the many questions we are asked in a day, hearing mom a thousand times over and usually functioning on limited sleep; how are we expected to have a clear mind? Over the years, I have learned that is essential to my survival to take a mommy time-out. Taking 10-20 minutes to re-boot may be all you need to head back into your chaotic world. For me, taking baths, getting some fresh air or laying down in silence for 10 minutes helped me get back on track. Giving yourself even that little bit of time can do wonders for your day.
Body wise, a balanced diet and workouts is essential to helping me feel strong and energized to take on each day. I of course have my cheat days where I skip a workout or enjoy a hearty meal and good dessert. I am just mindful in balancing for myself, and my family, a nutritious diet with sweets and treats.
For me, a healthy soul means being and doing the best that I can everyday. For others, it may be taking time to meditate or pray. Whatever you choose as a way to connect with yourself and be self-aware, aids in creating a healthy soul.
